WLU Scholarship

Each year, the Woman’s Literary Union awards a scholarship to a graduating senior from a high
school in Androscoggin County who intends to pursue studies in the liberal arts. The recipient
will be selected on the basis of scholarship and citizenship. This year, we will award $1,000.00.
Our recipient will receive this scholarship in June.

All applications must be postmarked or received via email by May 15, 2026. (Applications
postmarked after this date will not be considered.)

All candidates must submit the following materials:

• Woman’s Literary Union Scholarship Application Form

• An essay (500 words or less) on “Why I wish to study the liberal arts.”

• High School 4-year transcript

• Letter of recommendation from your guidance counselor, school administrator, or teacher
